She is highly qualified with a Masters of Education in Special and Inclusive Education from the UK. She empowers and works collaboratively with children, parents and teachers using international, evidence-based practices for literacy and numeracy, such as - Preventing Academic Failure (phonics based program to teach reading and writing based on Orton Gillingham approach), Visialisation Verbalisation, Wordly Wise 300 Singapore Maths and Stern Structural Arithmetic. She provides a comprehension report which she prepares in collaboration with parents after assessing the child in literacy and numeracy to outline the profile of the child and the goals she will be working towards. She believes in using movement to teach as it helps to internalise concepts while making the learning process joyful. For this purpose she has completed ‘Extra Lessons’ – a holistic approach based on Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy combining movement, speech, rhythm and painting. Deepika offers her services to parents seeking help for their child, schools and child development centres.
The Dalwood Spilstead Service provides multidisciplinary health, education and support services for vulnerable families. They also offer help to those who are in stress or experiencing difficulties in the care and parenting of their children in the early years. The Dalwood Spilstead Model is unique in its ability. It provides a holistic and integrated approach to the needs of vulnerable families and “at risk” children. All services for both parents and children are provided under one service umbrella and from the one team. This enables maximum engagement with families and ensures optimal co-ordination and consistency of service delivery. The service is currently available to 90 families, with all families being offered access to an extensive range of programs from which they can design their own service plan Referral to the service is through a health professional.
Danielle Arcidiacono has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and has been an owner and director of an Occupational Therapy and Assistance with Daily Living/Disability Support Work mobile practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for a total of 7 years. She has a passion for working with children, their families and multidisciplinary teams in order to reach each child’s optimal ability to support them living their best life. Danielle has seen children with a wide range of diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Delay, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Cortical Visual Impairment, Rett Syndrome and more.
