Dr Kelly Saltman
Dr Kelly Saltman is an experienced developmental & behavioural paediatrician working part-time at a private multidisciplinary clinic called Developmental Paediatrics in Bondi Junction. She has worked in paediatrics for many years both privately and in the public health system, in Sydney and regionally. Dr Saltman also continues her work within the public Child and Family Health service on the Central Coast. She strongly believes in working collaboratively with the young person, their family, educators and allied health professionals to help better understand the young person, support their individual needs, and find their strengths and resilience so that they can reach their full potential.
Dr Saltman’s expertise lies in the diagnosis and management of children and adolescents with:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Developmental (including language) delays and early behavioural problems
- Specific Learning Disorders
- Mental health problems, including anxiety and depression
Dr Saltman is a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She graduated from the University of New South Wales and has a Masters of Public Health. She completed her training at the Sydney Children’s Hospital (Randwick) and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Vanessa is a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with children and families. She is experienced in the assessment and treatment of children presenting with developmental, learning, behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. Vanessa believes in the importance of a collaborative and individualised approach when working with families to help them reach their goals.
Vanessa’s background includes providing specialised diagnostic assessments for developmental delay, intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, behaviour, anxiety and mood disorders, complex trauma and attachment difficulties. She has experience delivering individual, group and family based interventions. She utilises evidence-based therapies, primarily Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as parenting interventions to improve children’s behaviour and emotion regulation skills. She very much values being part of a multidisciplinary team and working together with parents, teachers and other professionals to ensure best outcomes for children.
ADHD Support Australia is now endorsed to provide NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient Teacher level.
So attending talks will contribute 1 hour 30 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered Professional Development addressing 6.2.2 from Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
