Dr Shamistra Barathan - Integrative GP MBBS (U.K.), FRACGP, FACNEM, DRCOG, DFFP
Dr Shamistra Barathan has over 20 years of experience as a general practitioner and has specialised in nutritional, lifestyle and environmental medicine for the last 10 years. She completed the Fellowship with the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and also holds the Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In 2021 she held the Vice President position at ACNEM. She graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine in London in 2000 and worked in the United Kingdom and New Zealand before settling in Melbourne in 2011.
Dr Shami founded and runs her private Integrative Medical Clinic in Carlton North, Melbourne. She is an advocate for holistic care and created a healthcare team which includes a Counsellor and Hypnotherapist, a Yoga Therapist and Health coach. Her passion lies in mental health and realised over the years how Adult ADHD can often go undiagnosed and present with over lying Anxiety and Depression. She has helped many patients with Adult ADHD using a holistic approach. In her spare time, she meditates, sings, practises yoga, is a pianist, mountaineer, an avid traveller and is involved in charity work overseas.
