Dr. Carina Burgess

Dr Carina Burgess is a Developmental Paediatrician and former Westmead Adolescent Medicine Staff Specialist who trained at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. Now as a Private Paediatrician in Sydney, Carina offers holistic and individualised care to children and teens alongside their families who have feeding, eating, metabolic or weight support needs. Carina has diverse experience working across a range of adolescent clinics (drug and alcohol, POTS, chronic fatigue, intellectual disability and SSP (school) transition clinics) and helped children and young people with eating disorders in hospital and community settings. Carina is able to offer Eating Disorder Care Plans and Reviews.

Carina is committed to providing high quality care to those who identify as neurodiverse or who may be individuals living with ADHD and or autism, and who may have co-occurring treatment needs for ARFID (fussy, aversive or sensory selective eating), binge eating, night time overeating, food or screen addiction, be weight neutral, have anorexia, require support with diets, training and bulking up and vomit and or use medication to remove food from the body. Carina enjoys working with busy on the go children who may be hyperactive or athletic children with RED-S. Also, individuals who may be bigger bodied and who are seeking safe weight loss or treatment for conditions associated with obesity e.g. PCOS.
